It is part of the ASA's mandate to provide exhibition
opportunities for visual artists in Alberta. Currently, the
ASA is organizing the art exhibition programming for the ASA
Gallery at Walterdale Playhouse in Edmonton. The gallery
feature several group and some two person shows throughout the
year. ASA formerly ran the ASA Gallery at Lougheed House in
Calgary; you can view some of the past exhibitions by following
the link.
In addition to this ongoing exhibition program the ASA's
volunteers organize several open call exhibitions per year at other
locations. These are often group shows inspired by a central
theme, often by a theatrical or dance performance.
The ASA also puts out a call for an open, juried, travelling
exhibition approximately once a year. Over the past decades
this includes many noted exhibitions that travelled inside Alberta,
some within Canada and one even to Japan. Please follow the
links to explore some of the past exhibitions and check our Events page to see the
current calls for exhibition opportunities.

For Members: Changes in Policy regarding
Exhibitions.
At the August 11th, 2012 Council meeting, the board voted to
implement some new policies regarding exhibitions. The policy
marks the formation of two committees, the Calgary Gallery
Committee, and the Edmonton Gallery Committee, and spells out
guidelines for managing exhibitions. Below are two documents,
illustrating these changes.
